Willie Head, Jr. is struggling to hold on to his 70 acre farm in the southeast state of Georgia in the United States. Teresa Massango, in Mozambique, is among the 80 percent of the population who depend on their land to feed themselves. In these two vastly different worlds, Willie and Teresa’s communities are developing surprisingly similar solutions to their poverty. Their challenges and accomplishments provide lessons for sustainable community development.
