Shift

2005, 4 min

A videosonic projection of two bodies asleep under sheets. The forms moving together and apart speak to the complexity of intimacy and unity. It is remarkable that we have the unconscious capacity to accommodate each other's movement while sleeping. But then, when awake, accommodation is often so much more difficult. This piece represents my desire for a world in which my interaction with others is as unconsciously skilled as our shifting bodies in the night.
